Parveen Nair – Co-Founder & Mentor

Acharya Shri Parveen Nair is a movement artist, educator and a uniquely inspiring teacher of yoga and non-dual philosophy, he is best known for his ability to help students and teachers embody an authentic and spiritual practice of Yoga, assisting those who come to him to find their own narrative in exploring their body-mind cantering practices.

Parveen is a Malaysian by birth, residing and teaching in the foothills of the Himalayas, a travelling yogi, Shri Parveen is also a professionally trained Classical Dancer in both highly revered Indian classical dance, Bharatanatyam and Odissi. He has spent over 20 years collectively studying and researching nearly every styles of yoga, its practices and associated philosophies. He has refined his methods of teaching to embodying the subjects, creates a learning environment that is rich, multi-faceted and experiential to his students.

Parveen has created his own style called the Embodied Movements for Yoga or Meditative Vinyasa, and it is inspired by his years of exploration through dance, bodyworks, breathworks, somatic movements and non-dual philosophy. This has encouraged him finding his own voice in teachings.

Parveen’s yoga journey began with the Sivananda Yoga Tradition and later trained under his mentor, the late Yogini Karin O’Bannon in Rishikesh. Over the years, his Yoga journey of Swadhyaya (Self-Study) has led him to intertwine the physical practice of Yoga with the gloss of spirituality. His teaching is highly influenced by the teachings of the great Yogi Shri Bagawan Ramana Maharishi and Shri Nisargadatta Maharaja, Shri Parveen perfectly blends the sublime with the dynamic in his teachings.

Shri Parveen established and co-founded Yoga Sadhana in Malaysia, China and Cambodia. The door of his Yoga Shala in Rishikesh, the world Capital of Yoga, is always open to aspirants who are seeking to explore the subtle undercurrents of Yoga.

He also conducts Yoga retreats, Yoga Teachers Training Courses, Yoga Intensive Workshops internationally. He has worked with many yoga teachers and schools around the world, and has been re-visiting these schools annually since then. Countries that Shri Parveen often being invited for teaching are those in the European continents, Central America, Asia, apart from various parts of India.
